Sleep Ugh, I know more rules... But please read them. Shocked

Before Tournament Begins:
  • The host of the tournament may not compete because he is a judge.
  • Other official judges, if they choose to be a judge rather than a participant, are myself Cool, SacredDuelist, and Karasu Sekiryou. More about judges under After the Tournament.
  • The host will set a close date for registrations and a date, a date that submissions will be accepted, the date that judging will begin, and the prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Make sure to leave a little time for some feedback before the judging begins.

During the Tournament
  • Only one card or card set may be submitted per person per tournament. (A card set is any set of cards that work together, like Blackwings or Lightsworns.)
  • You may use a card image from any source except those from the Graphic Shops unless they're purchased first. Better if you make them yourself, but will not be counted against you if you don't.
  • Cards must have your name and the current year during time of tournament or your entry will not be judged.
  • If for some reason, the tournament is hosted over New Years, either year will work fine. New

After the Tournament
  • After the tournament has ended, before judging begins, anybody (participant, judge, or 3rd party) may leave feedback. This feedback will not affect your score unless an official judge considers it to make a valid point.
  • If a card is posted, then the card will be judged. If a card set is posted, then the set will be judged as a whole.
  • Judges will score as shown below for each entry.

Overall: 1-10 (average of the below scores)
Effect has Proper OCG: 1-10 (It sounds like a real card effect; does not apply to Normal Monsters)
    Quality of Image: 1-10
    Originality: 1-10
    Comments:
Host may add more criteria, based on the type of tournament.

  • Your overall score is the score that will affect whether you win or not. It is a calculated score averaged from the scores below it. We break them down for you so you know what you need to improve on for the next tournament. New
  • Also, if you post a Normal Monster you will not receive the "Effect has Proper OCG" score. Do not worry, because the only score affecting your chances is the overall which is just an average. New
  • Total scores will be added for each entry among the judges and the winners will be announced afterwards.
  • If a tie occurs, then each entry that tied will earn the same prize.

Scoring a Card Set New
  • If someone posts a card set, score each card normally. Then make an additional score for the set as a whole as follows:

Overall: 1 - 10 (average of the below scores)
Average Overall Score for Each Card: 1 - 10
Do the cards work well together: 1 - 10
Host may add more criteria, based on the type of tournament.

  • The overall from this score is what will affect the chances of the contestant.

If you don't know what proper OCG is, then visit the Card Maker forums and read some of the feedback that real experienced card judges have to say.

An example of OCG correction is like this:

Bad: (incorrect parts are underlined)

During your Standby Phase, if this card is in face-up Defense Position, you must pay 700 Life Points. While this card remains in face-up Defense Position on your field, each time you Normal Summon a monster, you can draw 1 card from your Deck. When this card is destroyed by battle, you can discard a number of card’s from your hand to Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Deck whose Level is equal to the amount of card's you discarded. As long as this card remains in face-up Defense Position, your opponent cannot declare an attack on this card.

Corrected:

During your Standby Phase, if this card is in face-up Defense Position, pay 700 Life Points. While this card is in face-up Defense Position, whenever you Normal Summon a monster, draw 1 card. When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, you can discard a number of card’s from your hand to Special Summon 1 Fairy-Type monster from your Deck whose Level is equal to the amount of cards you discarded. While this card is in face-up Defense Position, your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target.
